Abstract Policies, Procedures and Instructions

Abstract Deadline: Friday, May 7, 2004 (5:00 PM CDT)

Abstract Policies and Procedures

  • Submission Deadlines: For consideration for presentation at the 2004 Fall Meeting and International Conference, September 19-22, 2004, abstracts must be received by the EMA no later than Friday, May 7, 2004 (5:00 pm CDT).
  • Preparation of Abstracts: Must be submitted on the official web-based form and conform to the instructions below.
  • Presentation of Abstracts: Accepted abstracts may be presented by members and non-members of the Emissions Marketing Association.
  • First Author: Only the first author of accepted abstracts will be invited to participate.
  • Disclaimer: Submission of the abstract indicates acceptance and compliance with all EMA Abstract Policies and Procedures.
  • Presentation Preference: While authors are asked to designate whether they have a preference for oral or poster presentation, the final choice is made by the programming committee on the basis of all abstracts available for the meeting. EMA reserves the right to invite authors not selected for oral presentation to present at the poster session.
  • Abstract Publication. All accepted abstracts and related presentation material at the 2004 Fall Meeting will be published in the Fall Meeting Final Program CD.
  • Meeting Registration. Authors accepted for oral presentation or poster session shall be required to register for the Fall Conference at the reduced registration rate of US$250. Only one discounted registration will be offered per each accepted abstract.

Notification of Programming
If the abstract is accepted for presentation at the 2004 Fall Meeting, the author will be notified in June 2004 concerning the following:

  • Title of session for abstract presentation
  • Date and time of session
  • Format of presentation

Organization of Abstract Body
Organize the body of abstract as follows:

  • A statement of purpose of the abstract (preferably one sentence).
  • A summary of the results presented in sufficient detail to support the conclusions.
  • A statement of the conclusions reached. It is not satisfactory to state "results will be discussed", or "other information will be presented".
  • Do not use subtitles.

Submittal Instructions

  • Authors are encouraged to submit abstracts using the web-based form. Authors unable to submit electronically are asked to contact David Feldner to discuss alternate submission instructions.
  • Submit the abstract before the May 7, 2004 deadline.
