In the state of Idaho, vehicles are required to pass emissions testing before the vehicle can become registered. There are a few exemptions to this rule, they are as follows:
- It’s a 1964 model vehicle or earlier
- It’s not registered or used on the county of Ada
- It’s a motor-home or motorcycle
- It’s a new vehicle that is less than a year old
- It has a manufacturers weight rating that is less than 1,500 pounds
- Its registered as an Idaho Old Timer or Classic Vehicle
- It’s a farm tractor
- It’s a vehicle that is registered on a pro-rated basis
- It’s an alternative fuel based vehicle
If your vehicle meets any of these standards, it’s considered exempt from emissions testing. Always check with your states emissions testing for further information.
